Kiss My Face Break Out Botanical Acne Gel

Kiss My Face Break Out botanical acne gel contains a number of natural ingredients that help prevent and treat mild acne. For instance, tea tree oil helps eliminate bacteria and acts as a mild astringent. Goldenseal also helps eliminate bacteria. Lavender oil soothes irritated skin and helps the skin return to a normal, healthy state. We love all the natural ingredients in this product, but because there are so many ingredients, people with allergies need to read the list of ingredients carefully. One concern is that people with seasonal environmental allergies are often allergic to goldenseal. This product might not be strong enough for people with significant acne problems, either, though it is likely to work well for mild acne.

Stridex Pads

This acne skincare product is one of the most popular and is available in many local stores. Stridex pads contain salicylic acid, which is recommended for treating mild acne(1). Derived from plants, salicylic acid is the main component in drugs containing aspirin. It is also often found in topical treatments for skin problems like acne, because it has anti-inflammatory properties and helps neutralize bacteria, unclog skin pores and remove dead skin cells. Since Stridex pads are alcohol-free, they are less drying to the skin than some other acne treatments. We like the fact that the pads are convenient, easy to use and they do not contain alcohol. People that are allergic or hypersensitive to aspirin or salicylic acid shouldn’t use Stridex, however.

Derma Roller System

The Derma Roller System is designed to stimulate collagen production, increase elasticity, and improve skin health. It’s a roller with very tiny medical-grade needles meant to be rolled over the skin. It’s frequently used to treat acne scars, though it can be used for a number of other skin problems as well. It’s often used in conjunction with other treatments, but some users complain that it is very painful to use.

Ole Henriksen Roll-On Acne Clearing Solution

Ole Henriksen roll-on acne clearing solution contains salicylic acid along with a number of natural ingredients that help treat acne. For instance, it contains tea tree oil, a natural antiseptic often used to treat acne and other skin problems; zinc, to reduce inflammation and promote healing; and thermal clay, to absorb excess oils on the skin. We like the natural ingredients in this product. People that are allergic to aspirin, salicylic acid, or any of the other ingredients shouldn’t use it, of course.

Clean and Clear Persa-Gel 10 Acne Medication

Clean and Clear Persa-Gel 10 acne medication contains benzoyl peroxide, which is recommended(1) to treat mild to moderate acne. Doctors often prescribe benzoyl peroxide for severe acne, too. We suggest trying other products before this one, even though this one is often effective because it’s strong enough to cause skin irritation, redness, burning, and even peeling skin in some people, especially those with sensitive skin. If you experience skin irritation or discomfort, stop using this product.

If you need a strong treatment, we prefer the next product on our list, our top recommended product for treating acne, because, in addition to benzoyl peroxide, it contains other ingredients to soothe the skin and help prevent irritation.

Proactiv Solution Acne Treatment Kit – Our Favorite Acne Skin Care Product

Our favorite acne skin care product is the Proactiv Solution 60 Day Acne Treatment Kit. The kit contains all the products you need for complete acne prevention and treatment, including a cleanser, a toner, a repairing treatment that treats acne with benzoyl peroxide, and a mask that deep cleans your face while minimizing pores. We like the fact that these products are safe for people that are allergic to aspirin and salicylic acid. We also like the fact that they work for mild to moderate acne (they may also help with severe acne but in particularly severe cases, you may need to see your doctor).
